Technology

A new year has begun with newer technology and a new look to our computer room! The past few months of summer have been spent brightening up our computer room. Starting with the room’s aesthetics, new chairs were ordered and the existing desktops have been painted to add more color to the room. The desks were then rearranged in order to make the room more spacious and functional. After the desks had been painted, the newer, donated computers we received from the law firm Shipman & Goodwin LLP were put in place. With the newer computers now in place, it made it possible to take the previous lab computers and put two dedicated computers in each classroom. All of the computers, including the teacher’s laptops have again been cleaned off and reimaged. Everyone starts the year off with a fresh computer!

With the help of our friends at Crucial Networking and with the new server put in place last year, each student and teacher now have their own login IDs and will be able to log onto any computer within the school using the same user name and password. I have also begun the process of setting up an account with “Google Apps for Education” which will save time and money on purchasing certain office software.
