SPANISH
Hola! Another year of espanol has come to an end. I am so proud of the students accomplishments. Grade 3 learned how to express their feelings. Some of the feelings they learned were hot, cold, hungry, thirsty, tired, scared and hurt. For example, "Tengo hambre" means "I am hungry". We also worked on articles of clothing. Third grade did a great job translating Spanish sentences into English that included colors and clothing. For example, "Los calcetines son blanco" is "The socks are white". They also learned the months of the year and all students were able to give their birth month and day in Spanish. The year ended with listening to and watching "Los Tres Cerditos" (The Three Little Pigs) entirely in Spanish. The students were surprised at how much they understood. Muy bien, Grade 3!
Grade 4 also studied feelings in addition to the names of family members (la familia) from mom and dad (madre/padre) to cousins (los primos). We learned about weather and the four seasons, invierno, primavera, verano and otono. Fourth grade also learned the months of the year along with their birth month and day in Spanish. The students sang the "Picnic Song" which reviewed the days of the week and introduced different types of food. Fourth grade ended the year learning some new classroom items to add to their list. These items included tijeras (scissors), notebook (caderno), eraser (borrador), pen (pluma), door (puerta) and window (ventana). Buen trabajo, Grade 4!
Have a wonderful, relaxing, fun and safe summer!
