PRESCHOOL

The PreK day begins with prayer and ends with prayer.

The PreK children of St. Peter/St. Francis School had a very profitable school year.  They mastered the alphabet, alphabet shapes and sounds, the vowels, and were also able to read simple three letter words and simple sentences.  These skills also included copying simple sentences from the board, thus perfecting their eye-hand coordination.

The children’s study of the Bible and life of Jesus continued to the very end.  They learned all their basic prayers by heart, are able to recite the rosary as well as basic Christian values and morals.

Math/numbers, handwriting, art, reading and music were also part of the PreK curriculum and the children did very well in all these studies.

The PreK school year came to an end with their “Moving Up” ceremony which was attended by parents, grandparents, siblings and friends.  This ceremony consisted of a presentation of their year’s learning – prayers, alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, Spanish, as well as PreK songs.  The presentation of diplomas ended the ceremony and was followed by a reception honoring all the little “graduates”.
